Leaving town we drove through some vineyards, then an orange grove, and then miles of fruit trees. Up into the hills to visit Sequoia National Park. Up the twisties to over 7,000 feet. We visited the General Sherman tree, the largest, by volume, living thing. It adds the volume of a 60' normal sized tree every year. An impressive sight. Then over to the General Grant Grove and more Sequoias. These trees are massive. Sherman is 103' around at the base and a couple hundred feet tall. The Sitka spruces are taller, but not as massive. On the way down more twisties and then driving through fruit orchards.
Staying in Fresno tonight where the afternoon temperature was 101.
