So yesterday we left fort Bragg and drove thru lots of coast and then the wine making area. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge right about noon and continued thru San Francisco and on to Monterey. Yep the high priced one. This morning after breakfast we headed for the pebble beach golf course and spent some time driving around and visited the club. It's a public club!!  All you need is a reservation and the $450 greens fee. It's an impressive place.  We went in some shops and walked to the first hole and watch rich young men tee off. While driving the perimeter of the area we saw some whales and the lonely cypress tree that is used as the pebble beach logo. And the homes in the area, well they were adequate. A surprising number were for sale. After we left pebble beach we traveled on route 1 along the Monterey peninsula (Big Sur)  to Cambria. Twisty, twisty twisty. Some spectacular view, more whales and some seals. Alas, at Cambria we turned east and started our journey back. We are spending the night in Pasa Robles where the temp currently is a balmy 99 degrees.
